Rawcliffe Christmas Fayre returns

Rawcliffe Parish Christmas Fayre returns this weekend and is set to be the biggest yet.

The hugely popular Rawcliffe Parish Christmas Fayre returns at the end of this month and is set to be bigger than ever with more than 50 stalls celebrating local crafts and kicking off the festive period, The Fayre takes place on Sunday, November 26, and a dedicated team of volunteers are closing the street along the Riverside in Rawcliffe, near Goole, to accommodate more than 50 stalls showcasing the best local crafts, gifts, produce and goods. The Fayre is now in its third year and has gone from strength to strength after first being created to pull the local community together after covid. The community event aims to bring everyone from Rawcliffe, Rawcliffe Bridge and beyond together to pick up some unique gifts and enjoy live music, carol singers and food. Children will also once again be able to meet Father Christmas in a free grotto and get a small gift while also enjoying other activities, including face painting. The event runs from 12 noon to 4pm and will be followed by the official switching on of the Rawcliffe Christmas lights on the Green at 4.30pm.

Chairman of the Rawcliffe Parish Christmas Fayre, Ben Pindar, said: “This event keeps on going from strength to strength and is a fantastic family day out. “This year is the biggest yet and we’ve got more than 50 stalls alongside a host of live entertainment, food, fun and games and Father Christmas. The success of the event is down to the dedication of a small army of volunteers and we can’t thank everyone enough for donating their time and helping to make this happen. “It’s a great way to kick off Christmas and find some creative gifts and decorations. We want everyone to come together as one big community and get into the festive spirit!”
